Erko Physio provides manual and exercise based physiotherapy to Newtown, Erskineville and Alexandria communities.


Brett Blows
received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 1992 graduating with distinction. After working in Chicago until 2000 in the areas of sports medicine, orthopaedics and neurology Brett returned to Sydney to private practice in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for a period ten years before opening Erko Physio in 2009.

Brett has worked with various populations including performance artists, students of ballet and dance, triathletes competing in the Busselton iron man, sporting weekend warriors of soccer, netball and yoga persuasions. At Erko Physio we are experienced in treating all ages from small children to the elderly.

Brett has developed experience in the treatment of a wide variety of occupational injuries from dancers to carpenters and life savers to office workers. Brett is experienced in treating back pain related to pregnancy and in new mothers.

Brett’s special interests include the treatment of low back and pelvic pain and dysfunction, shoulder injury and rehabilitation, core strengthening programs and yoga.

Brett is member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Sports Physiotherapy Association.

Sally Blake


Sally Blake completed a Master of Physiotherapy in 2006 and also holds a Bachelor Degree in Exercise and Sports Science, both from the University of Sydney. Sally has worked in private practice since 2007 and has experience in treating a wide variety of occupational and sporting injuries.

Sally has a special interest in sporting injuries and has treated athletes of all ages from local to national levels including previous work with the University of Sydney Rugby Union teams.

Sally's other interests include low back, hip and pelvic pain, including pregnancy related back pain. Sally has completed additional training in these areas and also is certified in Dry Needling (use of acupuncture needles to alleviate pain and muscle spasm), which she uses in conjunction with other manual therapy techniques and exercise programming.

Rafael Fortus

Sam Bartlett graduated from the University of Sydney in 2011. Sam has recently completed his Master of Physiotherapy, along with his Bachelor Degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2009.

Sam is an energetic person with a keen interest in treating acute sporting injuries, occupational overuse injuries and chronic lower back pain.

Sam is a keen sportsman within the local area playing Rugby Union for Randwick, and enjoys cricket, touch football, and surfing.

Coming from an exercise physiology background, Sam is dedicated in not only treating injuries, but also developing a rehabilitation approach for his patients.

Rafael Fortus

Courtney Gum completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia in 2003. Since graduating Courtney has gained diverse clinical experience in both private practice and public hospital.

As a private practitioner in South Australia Courtney gained experience in treating occupational and sporting injuries. Courtney has a keen interest in treating both lumbopelvic pain and cervico-genic neck pain.

Courtney takes an integrated approach to physiotherapy treatment by providing manual therapy, exercise prescription and advice that is suited to individual needs.

Courtney is a keen sportsperson and plays Australian Rules football. Courtney also trains with the Coogee Triathlon club to maintain fitness.

 

Clorinda Falivene is a physiotherapist who is passionate about women’s health and core stability. Since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2007, she has wasted no time in pursuit of this area of specialty by broadening her knowledge and experience in this area. Clorinda is currently completing her Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy in Continence and Women’s Health through Curtin University in WA.

Clorinda has particular interest in pelvic girdle pain and women’s health issues including pregnancy related back and pelvic pain; other pregnancy related problems such as hand and wrist pain, coccydynia (tail bone pain) or return to activity postnatally. Her proficiency in other women’s health issues include treating continence and bladder problems; pelvic floor dysfunction - including pain, spasm and weakness; prolapse and other pelvic floor related conditions.

Clorinda is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Women’s Health group.
